Boring, Boring Navel Gazing
Mar. 22nd, 2005 12:37 pmSo, did y’all think I fell in a hole or something? Not really, I just haven’t had anything interesting to write about. But it’s National Goof-Off Day today, so I think I’ll do a bit of navel gazing:
My mum bought me a Kitchen Aid mixer for my birthday. I have been wanting one for AGES, but she kept saying ‘why do you need a $200 mixer, you don’t even cook!’ But ma, I BAKE! Anyway, so now I have this huge desire to bake. Anyone have any requests for mail-able baked goods? ‘Cause after five boxes of Girl Scout cookies, my ass sure doesn’t need any more sweets right now.
Got an email from a third cousin doing genealogy research. He and I have been emailing back and forth and have come to the conclusion that our great-great grandma had an affair with her married employer and he was father of her kids. Makes the research a bit difficult, that.
Have just gorged myself on tons and tons of fanfic. All different pairings, a few fandoms. I swear, its crack. I keep thinking, ‘oh, just one more’ and pretty soon it’s two am!
Have caught up on my movie watching. I think I was the only person left on earth who hadn’t seen Lord of the Rings. And
zeedrippyvessel please don’t hit me, but it just didn’t pull me in, you know? Am I missing something? Should I watch it again? Should I watch all three movies? Because I know the LoTR-verse has a huge following and I feel like I’m just missing something. Please, people, educate me!
Did a photography shoot for my friend—her daughter needed photos for her dance recital program. Lots of fun! I think I’ve decided, once I get the kitchen finished (current remodeling project), I think I’m going to wall off a little “studio” area in my basement. I so love portrait photography and I always have a hard time finding decent interiors for backgrounds. And since the basement is totally unfinished, it’s pretty much a blank canvas. And it has exterior access, so. . .
Not sure what the vacation plans for this year are. Usually, we get a beach house, but this year, there’s a family wedding, so no beach, darn it. I think I might take a long weekend and go visit my college roommate, who is living in Georgia. Her husband is deployed to Iraq right now, so it’s just her and her little girls. And I’ve never been to Georgia. They are near Savannah, which I understand is quite beautiful.
See, I told you it was boring! And to my f-list:
Good luck on your trip,
ladymontogmery! Send us a postcard.
Congrats on being a newly marrit lady,
wiccarowan! Can’t wait to see piccies.
Hugs to
sapphiresnape. Email me, darling!
Are you feeling better,
pandora_nervosa? Give the coconut a hug from me!
And to everyone else, post more and entertain me! *snorfle*
And send me those baked goods requests.
